  For some reason, I thought I remembered the HiRens CD as containing both DOS and Windows versions of HDAT2, so that is why I wondered why you were trying to use the DOS one.
  
  I see now that it contains only the DOS version.
  
  But wait: instead of doing all that messing with the missing file, you can just go to the HDAT website and download the single program directly.
  
  You can get either a .iso file, which will create a bootable CD with HDAT on it ( a fully working version, I presume) or you can download a floppy disk version.
  
  The .iso file is here:
  
  http://www.hdat2.com/files/hdat2iso_49b1.exe
  
  Just download then double click to open the self extractor. It will create the .iso which you can then burn to disk.
