[SOUTHBENDLATHE] RE: How do you Test a 3-Phase Converter?

The converter is a "Phase-A-Matic" Static type converter. http://www.3-phase-converter.com/static.html

I don't believe it has a Shaft. Not sure about any button or switch on the converter box, but I will look and re-read the manual.

Wouldn't think it would need or ever had a Pony Motor required to start it.

The electrical connections were definitely correct as in separate 110-Volt legs. I didn't see any fuse or breaker in the Phase Converter. When it was hooked up to power there was no buzz or hum or anything at the motor.
