Of course Jerry you already had some stepper motors.

I am "thinking" of ordering some but am lost at what torque to spec, then I can test them like you did to see wha tI really got.

For a product I did with a stepping motor I did some calculations but then rigged up a test.  In this case I had two cement blocks hanging from the product output shaft and tried a motor at some different drive currents and ramp speeds to see how well it could move the blocks.
