Dave I think the top statement you made that is the first thing to remember all the time is:
"inserting a long wire at a test point is like attaching an antenna"
so ask yourself what happens in here, and over there, if I insert this "wire" into that gadget!
And just hope that your instrument was notleft on "amps" or "ohms"
