New cabinets sure are expensive compared to years ago. Then the shipping is vey expensive. I have picked up several computer cable switch boxes and built the Arduino projects in them. Always on the lookout at hamfests for boxes to repurpose for home brew.

One use for old test gear that is no longer usable / repairable is to use the cabinet for a home brew project.
New cabinets and even chassis are way out of sight price wise.
