I'm the moderator of 2 other Yahoo groups for many years now. The creator of
them has vanished years ago and was from the UK. I have asked many times
to be bumped up to group owner, but never get a reply.
True thing said here in another post is its a free service. So in reality it
can disappear without notice, warning or liability at ANY time. Same goes
for groups.io
I have seen mailman supplied with cpanel on websites serve as an email list
quite well. Also I once found a script called yahoo to mbox ti import all
messages
from a yahoo group I closed, into phpbb format so they were present in the
forums after I made the group into a website. Phpbb also had a mail2forum
and forum2mail
plugin so you could still do posts to and from via email instead of loging
in with the browser. Its been years since I did that though, not sure what
they offer now.
