I guess that the main thing is how much money do you have to put into the test set ?
  What frequency ranges do you plan no testing ?  
  HP makes some good equipment that is surplus you can get off ebay for around $ 1000.  You many have to go to about $ 1500 for some.

  My intention is to have a more complete laboratory and to perform tasks
  safely and easily. I would like to have an instrument like the MARCONI
  2955A or failing the necessary tools to perform all tests and measures that

  The downside is the price of these instruments, therefore, I like to know
  if you think interesting to invest in this type of instrument or not. I
  have seen someone of second hand that are fairly priced.
