Hi Antonio:

When I started my business 30 years ago, I made due
with what I could afford. I started with many
separate test sets, including signal generators, an
old FM10 (FM test set), spectrum analyzers and assorted
oscilloscopes.

They did what I needed to do, although it took up a
major portion of my bench space :)

After 4 or 5 years, I found a used IFR 1500 and never
looked back. Just to have everything in one box made
it worth the investment. I still have the 1500, but it's
useable life is over. I also have an IFR 1200 Super S, and
a Marconi 2955B, which I acquired through our (Canadian)
government auctions. Both are excellent machines.

Does that mean you can't do the "job" the old way? Of
course not..... it's just more convenient :)

Live within your budget!!
