[Electronics_101] Re: How do I test a stepper motor

 

if you have two identical ( or very similar) and if you just want to test for wire continuity. wire two together.

Then put a knob on one, and an indicator on another.

manually spin one. the other sill spin exactly in step.

there are a lot of stepper drivers in the CNC market. you do not have to build one if you do not mind spending the $$$

there are a few chips available for this purpose as well. interestingly enough there were driver circuits on the printers.
