[Amateur-repairs] hOW DO YOU TEST THE DATA CABLE USED BY A TS-480?

 

I've been trying to get my TS-480 connected to several programs and I'm not sure if my data cable is working properly. The responses I've been getting suggest that my cable might be bad. Can I test the cable to see if it's working?
