I am working on a Yaesu FT-70G that I picked up REALLY cheap. My first step is to replace the rotary switches, which, from what I understand are a chronic problem in these radios.
Once I have those replaced I want to proceed with a regular alignment and see if there is anything else wrong with the set. So far, the rig powers up and seems to want to work.
The wavetek I have is a 3001 (I believe.... I am not staring at it right now...)
After purchasing it cheap I learned later on that they are annoying to work on.
