   Even though I am familiar with tube equipment and high voltages, the warning is appreciated and always safe to give someone a reminder even if you think they do already know.   
     
    
   I'm planning on replacing the electrolytics and thanks for the idea about those diodes too - I'll check them.  
     
    
   My main reason in asking the question was to learn the proper ways to couple the signal generator into equipment.  
   I know there are various things you can do with a VFO that will distort or cut-off it's signal, etc.  
     
    
   I didn't know if there were similar circumstances for a signal generator, by which if I unknowingly connected it in a certain way, it would not work right, or the signal would not be injected properly into the equipment.
