Hi Brenda,

  You say you are not computer literate, so you should not get "steamed" at Windows 7 just because you do not know how to make this work.

  No need to get steamed at yourself, either.

  This is what technicians get paid to do, and if you're going to do it yourself, you just need to follow the same steps they would.

  Mike is right ... often a printer requires that the software be installed before the printer is plugged into the computer the first time. Did you do that?

  You didn't say where you acquired this printer. Is it used? How do you know that it is good?

  Yes, it prints a test page, but how do you know that something else inside is not bad?

  Did it come with a CD? Did it come with instructions, perhaps a Quick Start guide?

  If not, you can download them from the website of the printer manufacturer.

  Check the instructions and see if you are supposed to install the software from the CD before connecting the printer.

  You may have to unplug it, then go into Devices and Printers and delete the listing for the printer, then start all over.

  let us know
