Ricks posts were on the old yahoo group. Your posts to that group would've bounced.
Allan' posts were from that group also.
I believe I have (finally) turned off posting from that group.

Re: [SouthBendLathe] test

I'll repost my last message from yahoo here:

I think the gear is not removable. It should have a smaller OD than
the ID of the bushing, if so, the whole thing comes out the front of
the machine with the bushing. If not, the handle comes off instead,
and the screw comes out the back. There may be a damn-near invisible
pin through the side of the central ball of the handle holding it on.
It is a taper pin, so make sure you are driving the small end, not the
large one. Good luck getting it out.

Also, I'd like to note that the 9 Jr does not have power cross feed,
so you probably have a SCG (standard change gear) lathe, instead of a
Jr.

RE: [Simply Computers] Test Refurbished Computer

I have to agree with Mike. Use it as you would normally would. Walt's suggestions make sense but testing the CPU seems a bit extreme for a refurb.

I can only suggest to use it as you normally use a computer and make sure it performs to your satisfaction.

I have just received my refurbished computer and have 30 days to return
it. I want to give it a good comprehensive workout, but I'm not sure
how to go about that. I appreciate any suggestions you folks can
offer. Thanks for your help.
